CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR ANDINO ALPACA® PRODUCTS
BEANIES –SCARFS
We recommend gentle hand washing your Andino Alpaca 100% Alpaca garment, using a mild detergent suitable for wool or silk clothing. Following the detergent manufacturer’s instructions, ensure the water is just lukewarm (maximum temperature 30° C). Never use chlorine bleach.
Once clean, rinse several times to remove any traces of detergent. Gently hand press the garment to remove excess water, avoiding creasing or twisting. Allow the item to dry naturally in a flat position, to avoid distortion of shape or stretching. Do not tumble dry.
If you wish to iron the garment, first ensure that the iron is on a cool setting.
To remove stubborn stains, you may choose to have the garment dry cleaned.
SOCKS
Machine-washing
- To maintain their appearance and prevent pilling turn the socks inside out prior to machine washing or utilise a mesh laundry bag
- Use cold to lukewarm water (maximum 85ºF / 27ºC) with a mild, wool-friendly detergent. Do not use chlorine bleach
- Utilise the wool or gentle cycle setting on your machine
- Liquid fabric softeners can be used sparingly, if preferred.
- If socks are heavily soiled, pre-soak them in cold water with a small amount of mild detergent
- Whilst you can tumble dry your socks on a low setting, we recommend to naturally air dry them, avoiding direct sunlight, to prevent damage to the wool fibres and prolong the life of the socks
